City law firm, REN Legal, continues to advance up the Legal 500 rankings

London City firm, REN Legal, is recognised for its continued provision of effective and commercial legal solutions by The Legal 500 Series 2015. Now in its 28th year, this is widely acknowledged as the world’s largest legal referral guide and more than 250,000 corporate counsel are surveyed and interviewed globally each year.

It is particularly pleasing for the Partners of REN Legal to acknowledge the whole Firm’s efforts in competing effectively for corporate counsel acknowledgement amongst a pool of larger internationally acclaimed practitioners. “After only 5 years in business, to improve our rankings in all core practice areas and to be listed alongside Magic Circle and leading US law firms is a great achievement” explains Partner, Norman Fraser. “Our team has real in-depth knowledge and inherent expertise which means we can handle complex projects efficiently and without unnecessary delay. Partner involvement is important to our clients and we are committed to deliver this, they know we understand their businesses and always look beyond the horizon to deliver support throughout their business lifecycles.”

The Legal 500 is an independent guide, and firms and individuals are recommended purely on merit.  It is the only guide to truly reflect the needs of corporate counsel by focusing on the strength, in depth of the teams (practice and associates), rather than simply list individual partners. Four lawyers from REN Legal were identified for their particular expertise and results according to the Legal 500 list for 2015:

In the Asset Finance & Leasing arena, Christopher Jackson and Norman Fraser were highlighted: REN Legal provides a ‘superb, client-focused and high-value service’ to a range of banks, funds, lessors and airlines. The ‘highly commercial and user-friendly’ Christopher Jackson is ‘excellent at aircraft engine leasing transactions’, and is the primary contact, along with the ‘highly technical’ Norman Fraser.”

REN Legal’s Laurence Applegate and Emma Bucknall were recognised in the Private Equity & Commercial Real Estate sector: “REN Legal assisted Ares European Real Estate Fund III and Sovereign Land with the sale of Trinity Walk Shopping Centre in Wakefield. Laurence Applegate led on several sizeable deals; he leads the team with Emma Bucknall.”

Since its inception, REN Legal has advised on over 450 asset and real estate finance transactions with an aggregate asset value in excess of $15 billion. It represents the world’s largest aircraft engine and leasing companies, alongside leading banks, private equity funds and FTSE 100 companies.
